I'm telling you, having 5 exams in 3 days is quite devastating. And, of course we're talking about my after-school exams that determine whether I can study sth decent or go and rot somewhere all by myself. So it's quite a thing.
Unfortunately, my Motivation loves hanging out with my Inspiration. I suspect they're having an affair, but the point is they're extremely hard to find.

The buttons on the top of the journal will teleport you to three wonderful pieces. I found them on youtube.com, so they probably have annoying videos attached, but ignore them and just listen to the music. It's absolutely charming.
Why in French? is what sb asked me, but the answer is very simple - I don't know French. I don't understand a single word from what they're singing. And it's perfect for studying - it doesn't deconcentrate me, what was a huge problem when listening to Muse, The Beatles, etc. I knew the words, I was telling them to myself in my head, recalling the melody, singing them in my head. Obviously it wasn't helpful.

Once again when stressed I felt an urge to buy sth marvellous and to cook sth fabulous.
What I bought were a bunch of cosmetics I actually cannot afford, adorable skirt, coloured contact lenses and baby tomatoes. A really weird choice among the others but it led to most wonderful effect - an absolutely idyllic pasta sauce ever. I'll post a simple recipe here, but probably will re-post it as a tutorial or sth..

Ingredients:

Amounts of every ingredient are to be freely modified ^^

  • 8 slices of skinny ham
(if 1 slice is about hand-size)
  • 5 baby tomatoes
  • 6 pieces of dried tomato
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • handful of black olives
    (without the seed)
  • ~180g single cream
    (sweet, about 30% fat cream;
    don't bother too much about
    the amount, I added 180g
    because that's the size
    of a standard cream cup)
  • some fresh basil leaves

Preparing:

  • First of all most ingredients need some cutting :katana:
    - Cut the ham in rather thin, 3mm slices (in case you buy it in one piece), then cut every slice into about eight rectangles. Place on a dry, cold pan.
    - Cut your baby tomatoes in fours or eights (depends on their size and the kind of tomatoes, because there are strawberry tomatoes, coctail tomatoes, mini tomatoes, etc. and they all can be found under the name of baby tomatoes). Place them in a bowl too big for them alone :)
    - Fish the dried tomatoes from olive (you can wipe some of it out if you like) and cut them in as small stripes as you can. About 2mm wide and a 3cm long is my favourite :D Make them keep company to baby tomatoes.
    - Cut off the ends of each garlic clove, then crush them with your knife - it will release the delicious smell of fresh garlic and make it very easy to undress it from the dry peel. Cut it in awkwardly misshaped cubes and throw in a separate bowl.
    - Now to the olives.. First stare at them with delight, then cut each olive in halves and put in one bowl with other bastards.

  • Put the dry pan covered with ham on a burner. If it turns out to really be too skinny to fry on it's own you have two things to do:
    1) buy more of it,
    2) add a spoon of oil
(dried tomatoes are always drowning in oil which is suitabke for frying and will multiply the tomato-ish taste and aroma)
Once the ham starts to blush and smell divinely add garlic and a spoon of tomato olive.

  • When the garlic turns golden and the ham is about to be ready add all the things from the bowl and a few leaves of basil. They'll give wonderful smell if you tear them in your hands.

  • You will know it's time for cream when you notice your baby tomatoes turned quite lifeless and their peel is coming off spontaneously. If it's not but the ham or garlic is endangered of burning to carbon - add the cream by simply pouring all at once. Remember to stir it every once in a while for it shouldn't burn.

  • When you look at your pan and, stirring, wonder whether you added cream or cheese to the sauce it's an undeniable sign your dish is ready.

  • Pour some on a portion of al dente pasta, throw some torn basil and grated parmesan cheese on it. Grab a glass of nice wine and enjoy your splendid meal ^^

Well, so that is what I do instead of studying hard.
Keep your fingers crossed for me, today I have a really hard exam I'm afraid I might fail.
